Teresa is currently enrolled in the Sweet Adelines International Director Certification Program, and has continued her barbershop harmony education through the years by attending numerous educational conferences, retreats, summer music camps, and four International Educational Symposiums around the country. In 2007, Teresa sang on Sweet Adelines International competition stage at Calgary, Canada, with Top of the Rock Chorus (of Little Rock, Arkansas).
Teresa sang Lead in registered quartets, "Take 4 Quartet" and "Four His Glory Quartet." She served as the "fifth ear" for “Sweet Harmony Quartet,” where Teresa says, "I enjoyed learning the craft of barbershop quartetting and the sweet fellowship of singing sisters."
Teresa is a Speech Pathologist, practicing in the Monroe area since 1985. Teresa says she loves serving her clients. She also is in Bible Study Fellowship since 2006, and has served in a leadership capacity for the last few years.
Teresa and her husband Ron Howard three grandchildren, Molly, Lyla, and Brennon. Ron has a grown son, David (and his wife Amber), and Teresa has a grown son, Andrew. Teresa and Ron have a "feisty" rescue cat named Max.
Teresa welcomes the challenge of guiding SASC ladies on a fun and rewarding experience in the craft of singing barbershop harmony, and invites any lady who enjoys singing to visit a rehearsal and see how it feels to sing precise four-part harmony in the unique art form of barbershop harmony!

Now Scheduling Singing Valentines - Feb. 14!
One of the most memorable members of Southern Acappella Sound Chorus, Monica never meets a stranger. Singers all across the South readily recognize Monica and remember her fun, happy visits at Sweet Adeline events around the South.
Even before the day the chorus was chartered back in 2006, Monica had been a dedicated, loyal, hard-working proponent for the formation of the group. Her beautiful resonant lead voice brings a richness to the chorus's sound that is undeniable.
Monica has served as Parliamentarian, Secretary, Sign-poster, Key-carrier, Mailbox Checker, Bird-caller-whistler (wink!), Costume Committee, Housing Committee, Attendance-checker, and too many other capacities to even remember. Without Monica, this chorus would not be the same.
It is with honor that we announce the choice for this year's recipient of this disctinction.
We invite YOU to hare your photos, memories and funny stories of your encounters with Monica either here on our blog, or on our Facebook page.
Monica's enthusiasm for Sweet Adelines can not be contained and is contagious. She is always willing to learn something new. She is dependable, shows up for rehearsal and excels at doing warmups and being our secretary. Her attitude is irreplaceable, she walks in a room and you KNOW she is there. She is just Monica and we love her. Candice
When that thunderstorm moved through about 5:00 Saturday afternoon, we felt certain there'd be no way the races could be held, but the clouds moved through and remained to the east for the most part, and THE RACE IS ON!
Southern Acappella Sound Chorus got to sing the National Anthem, and participate in this FAST, FUN American past-time - NASCAR racing style!
Since we were singing we didn't get any photos of ourselves singing, but I snagged a few from the Rev's FB page - with those NASCAR guys and racers all around us, we just had to have a copy of those photos!
Thanks to JUDY HUGHES for making the arrangements, and thanks to all the sweet folks at the REV (Amanda and friends!) for the honor and privilege of singing the National Anthem. We look forward to the next time!
After paying tribute to our Veterans at the Veteran's Home in the afternoon, and singing for the residents at a local Assisted Living facility, we ate supper and waited out the rain before going on over to the REV to get the action started by singing the National Anthem. As the track was dried, we enjoyed visiting and learning how things are done at the real races--just like on TV!
The pit crews and staff of the track were simply precious people and we were so happy to be there with them for this FIRECRACKER 50 event. As the crowd of fans crossed over the fence and onto the track, it was apparent that there are a LOT of people who LOVE racing and there are a lot of people (like US) who don't even know the first thing about this sport. We learnd a lot on this evening, though, and you can bet a LOT of us will be going back--and bringing friends and family! This is a FUN way to spend an evening, and even between the excitement of the races, the sponsors and track folks make sure you have excitement by handing out raffle tickets to folks as they enter the gates and then all evening long, there are giveaways -- we came home with koozies, cups, caps, oil changes, and lots of fun first-time-ever memories.
We encourage all the people who can to go out to the REV if at all possible for the next races, which will be August 9, 26, Sept. 6, and Sept. 19, 2014.
GO TO THE RACES! You'll have a BLAST!
